Two Year Old ProgramAges 24-36 months Staff to child ratio: 1 to 8
Two-year-olds like to be independent! Their favorite phrases seem to be, “I do it!”, “Mine!”, and “No”. Emotions take on a roller coaster-like quality as twos go from excitement to anger to laughter within a matter of minutes. They are exploring the world around them with an unparalleled intensity. Our “Passport to Learning” curriculum outlines the developmental goals for children 24 to 36 months. Cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development is incorporated into the learning experience for your child at Spectrum Station. Children thrive in a well-ordered, predictable environment where daily routines such as arrivals, departures, meal times, nap times, and toileting are dealt with consistently by all caregivers. Our daily routines offer children a sense of stability and feelings of warmth and caring from their teachers. They also provide opportunities for students to learn about themselves, the world, and other people. Potty training is paramount for this age group. Our teachers work one-on-one with children and parents to make potty training easier. A detailed “Daily Information” sheet is completed throughout the day which includes information on feedings, diapering or potty training, napping, and activities. Parent Information Stations are located in each classroom. These stations display weekly lesson plans, weekly parent newsletters, menus, and “Passport to Learning” curriculum information. Our spacious older toddler playground contains age-appropriate equipment dedicated just for two-year-olds. Full time and part time offered (availability varies) |
