Staff to child ratio: 1 to 16 SCHOOL-AGE (Before and After School) PLATTE CITY LOCATION ONLY(Downtown Coming Soon) Our Platte City center offers before and after school care for school-age children. Our school-age classroom is designed with your child in mind. We have multiple building and construction areas, a social area, expansive art area, a social area, dramatic play area, woodworking area, library area, board game and puzzle area, and computer area. All areas are equipped to entertain and educate your child. Breakfast is served before school each day with a choice of a hot breakfast or cereal in addition to fruit and milk. After school, children receive a snack and juice. We offer fresh fruit and vegetables often during the week. Homework time is a must! We designate thirty minutes to homework and reading every afternoon. Teachers are available to help as needed. Each afternoon, children are also provided much-needed active play time on our playground. SCHOOL-AGE PROGRAMS (“No school” & vacation days) ALL LOCATIONS Spectrum Station offers drop-in care for school-age children when school is out for the day and for holidays and vacations. Breakfast, lunch, and two snacks are provided. Care for drop-in days should be reserved in advance. However, on "snow days", no notice is needed. SCHOOL-AGE PROGRAMS (Summer Camps) ALL LOCATIONS Spectrum Station offers full time care for school-age children during the summer months. Children want to have fun during the summer and our program provides many entertaining activities. School-age classrooms are designed with your child’s needs in mind. Discovery Zones offer a variety of hands-on activities to challenge your child’s imagination. We offer game zones, multiple building and construction zones, imagination zones, listening areas, and more. Your school-age child’s summer is also filled with exciting field trips and activities brought into the center. Field trips are taken to a wide variety of interesting and fun locations such as Moon Marble Company, Kauffman Stadium, Shatto Milk Company, Earth Works, swimming, bowling, Fun Run, McDonald's, and much more. Spectrum Station runs a lower staff to child ratio on field trips (1-10). Full and part time care is available. Children may attend for all or part of the summer. A one-time fee for field trips is charged. |
