Family Amenities
Spectrum Station Early Learning Center believes in a partnership with its parents and offers more than basic child care and early learning needs. We offer a variety of special activities to enhance your child’s early years. Family events allow time for parents to socialize and meet other families. These services are just one way of helping our busy families. Amenities vary by location.
Social Events
Each month Spectrum Station invites parents to participate in social events designed to enhance your family's experience at our center. We have a monthly dinner buffet set up from 4:00-6:30 pm, with the option to dine here or take it home. During various holidays, we host musical programs, carnivals, and other festivals. All of these activities are intended to help our parents get to know our teachers and other families and enhance our partnership with our parents. Check out the page for each center for upcoming event dates. 
Parents' Night Out
One Friday per month, Spectrum Station hosts Parent's Night Out. Fees and scheduled dates vary by center. Dinner will also be provided. Sign-ups are required, as space may be limited. Please see each center's individual page for more information. 
Dry Cleaning Service
The Dry Cleaner of Kansas City is a family owned company that has been in business since 1999. They provide dry cleaning pick-up here at the center once per week then returned the next week. Check the lobby for a brochure and pricing information. 
Birthday Party Packs
Planning birthday parties can be a time consuming process. Let Spectrum Station help! We offer two types of birthday packs to help celebrate your child's special day at school. Order forms are available in the lobby. |
Enrichment Activities
Spectrum Station offers a variety of on-site activities during regular operating hours. These opportunities afford children enriching experinces during the school day, which enables families to spend more time together in the evenings. Classes range in cost from $25 to $35 per month. Activities vary by location, additional information can be found at the Activity Station in your center.
Hooked On Phonics
Hooked on Phonics is an award-winning early reader program that provides children three years of age and older with a strong foundation in phonics and reading. Beginner classes start with a concentrated effort to learn all of the alphabet letters and their phonetic pronunciation. Children then learn the concept of putting letters together to form words and soon move on to reading stories. Classes are typically held three times per week and are comprised of small groups of three to four children. The cost is $50 per month. Children may sign up at any time throughout the year. 
Fitness & Nutrition
Spectrum Station offers classes designed to promote exercise and wellness for children two years old and up. Children learn the basics of good exercise, aerobic movement, and increased flexibility. Our instructors make movement and exercise fun, while helping children learn about good nutrition, hygiene, and safety. Sessions are 30 minutes in length, once per week. 
Soccer
Our soccer coaches use stories, songs, nursery rhymes, and fun games to enhance motor skills, teach basic soccer techniques, promote positive self-esteem, improve balance and coordination, and help children develop social skills. Classes are held weekly at the center. Soccer coaches work with children in small groups with similar skill levels. 
Tap and Ballet
Learning to dance and move rhythmically offers children a great way to gain coordination and self-confidence. Children develop poise and the ability to increase their awareness and appreciation of music. Getting children up and moving has become even more important in a world that has become increasingly sedentary. Dance classes are held once per week; individual times will be posted. Classes are open to all students ages two and a half years old and up. |
