Spectrum Station -  Day Care & Early Childhood Development Center in Kansas City

Our Staff
     Teachers - Toddler Program - (12-24 Months)

Miss Janelle, Lead Teacher
Janelle joined our team in January of 2004 to help open room E in our infant program. Her nurturing and loving nature was perfect fit for our toddler program.

Janelle spent thirteen years with the Kansas City Zoo. Talk about fun! When it was time for a change, Janelle began working for the downtown airport for the next 13 years. She retired in the fall and began looking for work where she could make a difference and one that she would love!! Janelle has found that job. She loves working with children and says she's their "favorite toy."

Janelle has a grown daughter with 2 grandsons and a son with a granddaughter. Being a grandmother is life's greatest reward, according to Janelle. She also enjoys scrapbooking, reading and the great outdoors!

Miss Lee, Lead Teacher
Miss Lee began working for Spectrum Station shortly after we opened. There was a demand for someone caring and nurturing to lead our toddler classrooms in the afternoon and she was the right person for the job.

Lee graduated from Maple Woods College in 1999 with an Associates Degree in early childhood education. She has always felt seeing young children progress in their development is extremely rewarding. Miss Lee also has experience substitute teaching in the North Kansas City School District.

Along with working in childcare, Lee and her husband own and manage a restaurant in the downtown area. In her spare time (when she has any), Lee enjoys going to the gym and rollerblading. She does admit, however, that her favorite pass time activity is spending time with her two daughters (10 and 13). She loves going shopping, just the three of them!

Miss Lee has been a wonderful asset to Spectrum Station and we are so thrilled to have her as a part of our team.

Miss Felda, Teacher
Felda began working with us in September 2003 and has been a great asset to our program. She has been married for 22 years to her amazing husband Greg. She also has a 21 year old daughter who is in her third year of college at Missouri Western.

Felda loves children, and began babysitting at the age of 14 and was so successful that she was able to buy her first car with the money she earned. After her daughter was born she ran a daycare out of her home. Felda loves to travel! She has been to many different places like, Australia, London, Cancun, and the Virgin Islands. She even lived in Japan for awhile. Her other hobbies include: collecting precious moments figurines, reading, and bird watching.

Miss Tara, Teacher
After graduation from Park Hill High School in 1997, Tara joined our director at a previous early childhood education/child care center. Her mother Patti and sister MaryAnn, who still work for Jan, suggested she give child care a try. Tara always liked working with children and did a great deal of babysitting when she was younger, so she decided to give it a try. 10 years later, she still loves it. And we're happy to have her join us at Spectrum Station.

Tara comes from a very close family... Mom, Pattie and Sister, MaryAnn work here as well. Together with her Dad, Lane, niece, Olivia and brother, Jimmy, the whole family makes many trips to their house at the lake. Tara is very crafty and enjoys making purses and bags out of a variety of materials, including "duct tape!" She loves music and movies and spending time with friends and family.

Miss Debbie, Teacher
Miss Debbie joined Spectrum Station in March of 2005. For 10 years she ran a private daycare out of her home for infants and toddlers. Her sweet personality is a welcome addition to our toddler program.

Miss Angela, Teacher
Angela has been working at Spectrum Station since January of 2008. She has 10 years of childcare experience. She has worked for a large childcare chain, done her own in home care, and has firsthand experience with her own child, a daughter named Chloe. We knew immediately she would be a great fit here at the center.

Angela enjoys reading and doing anything outdoors. She is also a part time Partylite consultant. In her spare time she enjoys spending as much time with her family as she can, and eating Mexican food!

Miss Rachel M. Assistant Teacher
Rachel began working at Spectrum Station in March of 2008. She is a student at Oak Park High School, and is planning to attend college in the fall at Maple Woods. She'll be majoring in early special education.

Rachel loves children and it shows in her love and patience for them. She spent a lot of time babysitting for families in her neighborhood and now has a 6 month old nephew. She is very close to her mother and brother, and tries to spend as much time with them as possible.

In her free time Rachel enjoys hanging out with friends, and singing. Her favorite food is Italian, and she loves chocolate chip Ice cream. We are very happy to have Rachel on our team.

Miss Staci L. Teacher
Staci is currently attending Northwest Missouri State and majoring in Physical Education. Stacie has worked at Holy Cross Lutheran Daycare with the school aged children. She loves working with children of all ages.

Staci really enjoys working with younger children, and fell in love with our toddler program. Watching them learn new things is very rewarding for her. Staci is very close to her family. She has one brother who is younger and her mother is the most important person in her life. She also loves to go to the track and watch her father race.

Miss Victoria, Teacher

Victoria began her childcare experience as an intern through Winnetonka High School and has been babysitting for many years.  Victoria has always had a passion for taking care of children and truly loves her toddler room.

Victoria has a one year old daughter, Jaiona, who is the light of her life.  She loves spending all her time with Jaiona, and her boyfriend Justin.

A perfect evening for Victoria would be watching movies at home with her boyfriend and eating pizza.
