Younger Toddler (13-24 months):

During this important stage of development, your toddler grows at an amazing rate. Trust and emotional security develop as your toddler learns that their needs will be met predictably and consistently. Our caregivers strive to create daily routines for toddlers that give them a sense of security, making their lives predictable and safe.

Caregivers guide your child through daily experiences allowing them to "learn through play" rather than simply presenting learning materials. In addition to reading aloud, songs and "fingerplays" become an important language building activity. Helping toddlers to communicate is an important part of their toddler experience. Spectrum Station uses “Baby Sign.” Baby Signs are a series of hand signs, similar to American Sign Language that allows children to communicate their needs. Our teachers use several basic signs to aid in building language and communication.

A "Daily Information Sheet" is completed each day which fills parents in on all their child's daily routines. Meals, diapering, and naptimes are detailed, as well as a summary of the day's activities. A “Weekly Newsletter” is sent home each week to outline upcoming learning activities and events.
