OUR PROGRAMMING
Spectrum Station believes that high quality early learning centers base their programs on Developmentally Appropriate Practice. This developmental approach to early education serves as a framework for planning curriculum and implementing a wide range of activities and experiences for children.
Our program believes that in order for any child to be successful and ready for school, we must offer a learning environment that focuses on the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of each child. A well-rounded curriculum challenges students to new levels of learning. It integrates all areas of intellectual growth and develops themes, projects, and activities through which children can expand their knowledge and skills. It also incorporates a multi-sensory approach to learning. Concepts are introduced and reinforced by using the auditory, visual, and kinesthetic (motor) senses of the young child. Children enjoy a wide variety of opportunities for interaction with “hands-on” experiences and materials designed to stimulate independent exploration.
OUR TEACHING TEAM
At Spectrum Station, teachers are specifically chosen because of their qualifications and dedication to meeting the developmental needs of children. The lead teachers in each age group have at least an Associate’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or a related field and have several years of experience. As members of the classroom team, assistant teachers have some formal training in child growth and development and experience in working with young children.
All teachers complete an in-depth orientation and three week training program. A rigorous background screening is conducted yearly on all staff members.
